To complete the worldsquare

Fill in one letter per square. Look at the word clues first - all are within the squares. Words may go in any direction and sometimes turn corners; you just follow the arrows.

One or two letter answers are likely to be symbols or initials. Some of the word answers - and all of the picture ones - are based on this issue of the New Internationalist.

Words and phrases related to the pictures build up as you fill in the page. They could be anything - name, comment, quotation.

Think arrows indicate the continuation of a phrase and take up the spaces between words. Squares with thin arrows also contain a letter and indicate a change of direction.
