Catapult Books
Catapult Books is the partnership publishing imprint of New Internationalist. Catapult helps individuals and organizations craft book projects, publish in print and/or ebook formats, and make titles available to all relevant audiences.
New Internationalist has built up a significant reputation over the last two decades as an independent book publisher, with its NoNonsense series on key global issues, other nonfiction covering current affairs, politics, economics and environment alongside international short story fiction and illustrated titles.
Catapult Books, our partnership publishing imprint, enables us to bring a wider variety of titles within our scope, exploring the rich potential in academic and civil-society research and thinking.
We invite academics, NGOs and unions working in New Internationalist’s particular fields of expertise and interest – global justice, human rights, politics, international relations and international development – to submit book proposals in the form of a synopsis and a chapter outline.
Successful proposals will be published as ebooks under the Catapult imprint and sold through all major online bookshops and platforms as well as in the New Internationalist’s own Ethical Shop. Each title will take advantage of New Internationalist’s global reach as a publisher, with distribution agreements covering the world.
Authors will cover the initial costs of editing and production but these are kept to a minimum. Titles receiving particular interest and ebook sales may then cross over to become print publications. Print copies can also be made available from the outset as required, and paid for, by the author(s).
Please send us your synopsis and chapter outline, together with a covering letter explaining your aims and objectives. Email the team.
