Online Symposium: Seeking Justice - Social Activism Through Journalism and Documentary Practice


The Centre for Documentary Practice invites you to logon and join the world’s first online journalism and documentary conference on October 15th 2009, starting 12:01am (GMT).

This Thursday, the Centre for Documentary Practice, QLD, Australia, are hosting a free,
landmark all-day event. The event is an international online symposium on Social Activism
and Social Change through Journalism and Documentary Practice, connecting the world of journalism.

On October 15th we will connect an international community of documentary practitioners and journalists for one day, to share stories, to stimulate discussion and debate about our discipline, and to inspire each other to continue the fight for justice.

We are honored to have some of the finest photo/journalists speaking, such as Paul Fusco, Ed Kashi, Jodi Bieber, Marcus Bleasdale, Shahidul Alam, Gary Knight, Adam Ferguson, Robin Hammond, Michael Coyne, Masaru Goto, Jack Picone, Megan Lewis and others.

The conference will be run using Adobe software acrobat connect pro - on the day (this Thursday), people will be able to just go to our website (www.cdp.edu.au) and there will be a link to take them into the conference. Timezones are on our website under program. Our speakers will be showing stories, giving background info, talking about their practice in regards to social change and answer questions.
